Organic Mountain Comtemporary
East Vail, 2009- Renovation and Rebuild
A genuine mix of industrial and organic materials, this house was built to look contemporary and still connect the owners to their home and natural surroundings. Composed of a series of curved shed roofs supported by stone walls with exposed steel and a timber frame structure, this duplex home was a collaboration between architect, owner, interior designer and Alpine. Steel beams through glass walls and a stunning stair case feature; this project showcases complex engineering and build, while resourcing raw materials that complimented the overall design. The kitchen also shows the implementation of clean lines throughout with an island created of soft white marble to remind the family of their connection to nature. The client’s third project in about five years with Alpine, this house addressed the needs of a young family, while allowing it to grow with them until maturity.
